Keeping Neighbors Warm
KEEPING NEIGHBORS WARM is a coalition of area businesses and local citizens in Southern Maine determined to make sure that no one goes without heat during our cold, harsh winters.
A slow economy, skyrocketing fuel prices, and severe winter weather have caused great hardship for a number of families this past winter and next year promises much the same.
Many of these families did not qualify for traditional assistance programs and this year were forced to choose between food, house payments, medication, or fuel. Something needed to be done.

The Maine Way, Inc
By partnering with The Maine Way, Inc., a 501 (c) 3 non-profit, all contributions are tax deductible. This partnership has allowed KNW to launch within days rather than months so that families could be helped immediately.

We Respect People's Right to Confidentiality
We understand how difficult it is for people to ask for help, even when it's desperately needed. Inquiries are handled by each community's general assistance office to insure that confidentiality is respected.
Individuals can call the contact numbers listed on the 'How to Get Help' page. Please do not hesitate to inquire about programs that may be available to help you and your family.
